My Goal

I came to the Cayman Islands 31 years ago to teach Caymanian students on the law degree and the Bar course. As soon as I settled in, I saw that there was also an opportunity to apply my specialist knowledge - I could help to improve property law in the Cayman Islands and the British Overseas Territories.

I set myself the goal of contributing to better property law and better property administration.

I planned three routes to pursue this goal of better property law and better property administration:

1 - disseminating technical analysis and promoting best practice in the legal community (influencing practice)

2 - proposing and supporting beneficial changes to the law (law reform) and helping to shape improvements in government processes for the administration of property (policy development)

3 - aiding decision-making in public bodies and supporting dispute resolution (advice and guidance)
